Yu Kanamaru tops testing at Barcelona
Yu Kanamaru set the fastest time at the end of the first of the two-day Euroformula Open testing at Barcelona. Japanese driver of Emilio de Villota Motorsport, who claimed a victory in the last week Winter Series at Paul Ricard, clocked 1:39.639. Russian Konstantin Tereschenko (Campos Racing) finished second by a margin of only 22 thousandths off Kanamaru’s time. Leonardo Pulcini (DAV Racing) and Yarin Stern (Team West-Tec) were third and fourth respectively, while Diego Menchaca (Campos Racing) rounded off the top-5.
Vítor Rodrigues Baptista was the best RP Motorsport driver as he ended sixth, ahead of Tanart Sathienthirakul (Team West-Tec), John Simonyan (MKTG), Edi Haxhiu (Corbetta Competizioni) and Igor Walilko (RP Motorsport).
William Barbosa set the 11th final time for BVM Racing after having topped the third session. With the Italian team, Spaniard Javier Cobián made his first appearance in the series. Another Spaniard, Marc González, will test for Emilio de Villota Motorsport tomorrow.
