VLN, spectator killed in Nissan crash
A tragic accident stopped today the first race of the VLN series at Nürburgring, after the Nissan GT-R NISMO GT3 car of 23-year-old Briton Jann Mardenborough had an airborne crash at Flugplatz, finishing over the barriers at lap six and killing a man.
The driver was apparently unhurt and the race has been definitively red-flagged. The accident is quite similar to the Manfred Winkelhock Formula 2 crash in 1980 at the Nordschleife.
