Trulli joins Carlin for Imola round
Enzo Trulli will join Carlin for this weekend’s Euroformula Open round at Imola. The 16-year-old son of former Formula 1 racer Jarno, will make his debut for the team in the fifth round of the championship as it heads to Trulli’s home event.
Trulli came into the season in Europe as UAE Formula 4 Champion, having claimed a stunning 13 podium finishes including four wins to be crowned the victor. Previously, Trulli had a successful career in karts, making the 2021 season his first in single-seaters.
Making the big step-up to Euroformula Open in 2021 with Drivex School, the Formula 4 Champion’s best result of the season so far has been a third place at the season opener in Portimão last May.
While Carlin have sat out three events of the season, the team did compete in Spa-Francorchamps last month with their BRDC British F3 driver Christian Mansell. The Euroformula Open rookie claimed a best finish of fourth in race two of the weekend.
“I’m happy to be with Carlin this weekend for my home event“, Trulli commented. “We are focusing on building up a good relationship and getting up to speed quickly. It would be great to have a good result at home.”
“We are pleased to have Enzo with us this weekend in Imola“, Trevor Carlin added. “It will be a steep learning curve to get to know each other quickly and get to the grips with our car, but Enzo is a really bright young driver so I have real confidence it will be a positive experience. We’re looking forward to working with him this weekend and hopefully for future race“.
