Third win for Minshaw, Keen

Huracán GT3 of Jon Minshaw and Phil Keen achieved the third seasonal win in the British GT Championship at Snetterton 300. The Barwell Motorsport pair defended the GT3 lead sharing the pole positions with Macmillan AMR Aston Martin of Jack Mitchell/James Littlejohn and heading in race one the Lamborghini 1-2 ahead of team mates Liam Griffin and Sam Tordoff.

In race two Jonny Adam and co-driver Derek Johnston capitalised on Barwell Motorsport’s drive-through penalty for not respecting minimum pitstop time, to take the victory with TF Sport Vantage GT3. The Griffin/Tordoff duo secured another second place. The Aston Martin of Mark Farmer and Jon Barnes finished third. Minshaw/Keen were sixth.

In GT4 categoryHHC Motorsport’s Will Tregurtha and Stuart Middleton extended their championship lead after overcoming the full 10-second success penalty to claim their second consecutive class victory in race 1. Black Bull Garage 59’s Ciaran Haggerty and Sandy Mitchell claimed their first victory of the season and took advantage of HHC Motorsport’s non-finish to give their title aspirations a timely shot in the arm.

Minshaw and Keen’s championship lead has increased to 23.5 points over Parfitt Jnr and Seb Morris, while Johnston and Adam are up to third. The next round of the British GT Championship takes place at Silverstone over the weekend 10th-11th June.
