Team Engstler to line up two Bmw 320s
Liqui Moly Team Engstler confirmed its participation in the FIA European Touring Car Cup. The German team will field again two Bmw 320si cars in the Super 2000 class for 2-litre normally aspirated engines for Christian Fischer (pictured) and Plamen Kralev.
This is Fischer’s second season with the team, after he was classified eighth in last year’s ETCC; the Swiss driver is a regular competitor of the series and achieved his best result by placing sixth in the 2012 season.
Unlike his team-mate, Planev is facing his maiden year in touring car competition; the Bulgarian racer began his motor sport career in 2007 in GT racing before moving to single-seaters in 2010 and spending three seasons in the FIA Formula Two Championship.
We are happy with our driver line up and we are aiming to fight for the title this year. Christan had a bad incident last year at the Salzburgring and was forced to skip some races before a full recovery. This year he is fully fit and looking forward to the championship. With Plamen Kralev we have a highly motivated driver, with a lot of experience and a professional attitude. We will begin our testing programme by the end of March in order to be well prepared for the challenge. – team manager Kurt Treml commented.
