Talkanitsas claim victory in Race 2

Aleksander Talkanitsa Senior and Junior claimed victory in Race 2 at Paul Ricard, in the first round of International GT Open Winter Series. Belarus father and son, sharing the AF Corse’s 458, have taken their maiden win today after a fierce duel with Kessel Racing’s Michal Broniszewski , who eventually finished sixth.  Italians Mario CordoniStefano Gattuso (Ombra Racing) ended second ahead of the winners of race 1 Roman Mavlanov-Daniel Zampieri (SMP Racing), completing an all Ferrari podium again.

Polesitter Rugolo led at the start, while Mavlanov and Broniszewski fought for the second place. Florian Merckx got a drive-through penalty for overtaking eyond track limits. Cordoni was fourth, ahead of Vyacheslav Maleev and Massimiliano Bianchi.

After the pit stop Broniszewski passed Claudio Sdanewitsch on lap 18. With five cars in three seconds, the last two laps saw Talkanitsa jr keeping the lead and taking the win.
