SuperTouringSeries “League” postponed to 2015

The new SuperTouringSeries model “League of Teams”, based on a close marketing and sporting collaboration between the Teams and the Series organiser, has generated great interest from high profile International motor racing squads from Italy, UK, The Netherlands, Belgium, Switzerland and Germany.

Among those who have confirmed their willingness to participate in the championship are Carlin Motorsport, Fortec Motorsport, Triple Eight Race Engineering, Verschur, Roal, Reiter, Alstare, MTM, Maurer and Swiss Team.

Given the tight schedule and the upcoming release on the market of new models which will replace the current ones in the upper range, the majority of the teams have confirmed the intention to participate in the Championship next season. Therefore, the start of the “League” will be postponed to 2015.Daniel Audetto, CEO of PARE LTD, said – However, for 2014 we are evaluating to organize the SuperTouringSeries with a standard program, without the League concept, together with the teams who have been asked to guarantee the presence of an adequate number of competitive cars in all the races. Should it be decided to proceed this year the Series would be held in Europe at Monza, Mugello, Brno, Portimao, Vallelunga and Paul Ricard.

It is also confirmed that the organisation’s sister International GT Series shall take place on the following calendar, with four dates sharing Ferrari Challenge Europe weekends: 6th April 2014, Monza; 4th May, Hungaroring; 19th May, Mugello, 22nd June, Brno; 20th July, Portimão; 7th September, Magny-Cours; 12th October Imola.
