Strakka fields a third Mercedes in Suzuka
Strakka Racing team will enter a third Mercedes-AMG GT3 in Suzuka 10 Hours, after confirming the nine drivers set to contest round three of the Intercontinental GT Challenge on August 24-26. The British squad has added a Pro/Am car to the two Pro entries previously announced.
Nick Leventis and David Fumanelli, who finished second in the Pro/Am class at the Total 24 Hours of Spa last weekend, are joined in Japan by 2016 Brazilian Stock Car champion, Felipe Fraga.
Lewis Williamson formed one-quarter of Strakka’s Pro/Am crew at Spa but now moves across to partner Maxi Götz and Alvaro Parente aboard the team’s #43 Pro entry, while AMG factory driver Maxi Buhk shares #44 with Oliver Rowland and Adrien Tambay.
Mercedes-AMG is one of the 13 manufacturers confirmed for the inaugural Suzuka 10 Hours, which has become Asia’s sole leg of the Intercontinental GT Challenge this year. It follows renowned endurance races at Spa and the Liqui-Moly Bathurst 12 Hour, while America’s round – the Laguna Seca Raceway California 8 Hours – closes out the campaign on October.
