SMP Racing dominate Winter Series
14 cars and five teams – AF Corse, Drive School, GT-PRO by Alméras, Kessel Racing, SMP Racing Russian Bears – took part in the two-day testing session at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya which concluded the International GT Open Winter Series.
At the end of the two days, the SMP Ferrari 458 GT3 of Roman Mavlanov-Daniel Zampieri set the best time of 1:47.303, posted in the morning of Day 1 thanks to lower temperatures. The Italian and the Russian were at the very top in almost all sessions, leaving only one to their team-mates Vyacheslav Maleev-José Pérez Aicart (1:47.391). Former WTCC racer Fernando Monje (pictured) was third-fastest with the Drivex Porsche 911 shared with his father Ferrán, with a time of 1:47.621.
In the combined results, the Porsche Alméras ended fourth ahead of the Kessel cars of Matteo Cressoni-Thomas Kemenater and Dimitri Enjalbert-Jonathan Sicarti and the AF of Cédric Sbirrazuoli-Adrien DeLeener.
