SMP Racing-Euronova confirm F4 entry
Euronova Racing has confirmed the continuation of its partnership with SMP Racing which will see a two car team entered into the Italian Formula 4 Championship this season.
The collaboration between the Russian company and the Italian based team began in 2013 and saw rookie drivers Sergey Trofimov and Vitaly Larionov finish 1-2 in the Trofeo Nazionale class for under-16 drivers in the CSAI Italian Formula Abarth Championship.
This year the team will run two cars under the SMP colours in the new FIA authorized Italian Formula 4 Championship. The two seats are already confirmed for Russian kartists Ivan Matveev and Alexandra Zabolotnyaya whilst Euronova Racing will run additional cars under its own name.
In preparation for the 2014 season the drivers will begin testing at the end of this week with a three day test at Vallelunga using Euronova’s Formula Abarth and Formula Renault 2.0 cars. A full pre-season testing programme is already in place which will see the drivers visit the circuits which will host rounds of the Formula 4 Championship this year.
