Seat Leon Eurocup set for Salzburgring
Only three weeks after the first race weekend of the season at the Nürburgring track, the Seat Leon Eurocup travels to Austria, for rounds three and four of the series on 23-25 May.
Following a win and a third-place finish in Germany, Norway’s Stian Paulsen (pictured) leads the Drivers’ standings with 16 points, followed by Stefano Comini (Target Competition) and Fran Rueda (Monlau Competicion), both tied in second place with 13 points each.
This second Seat Leon Eurocup race weekend will take place alongside the WTCC in the Salzburgring, a very fast circuit located 15 km east of the historical city. Lying in a narrow alpine valley, the 4.23 km track layout features two very long straights connected by the sweeping and fast ‘Fahrerlagerkurve’ corner on one side, and the narrow ‘Nockstein-Kehre’ on the other.
After two practices and a qualifying session that will take place on Friday, the Seat Leon Eurocup’s international grid of 21 drivers will compete in two races during the weekend (Saturday 13:45h, Sunday 12:00h).
