Purple Dot confirms British trio
Young British trio Tom Wood, Josh Hislop and Luke Williams have been officially confirmed as team-mates for this season’s Nürburgring Endurance Series after signing to race the Purple Dot BMW M240i with top team Walkenhorst Motorsport.
Purple Dot will field two cars for the full campaign with a second BMW M240i to be piloted by Cameron Evans, Chandler Hull and Charlie Postins. The squad, which is headed by multiple motor racing champion Tim Sugden, is understandably disappointed the start of the Nürburgring Endurance Series is being delayed but the team fully accepts and appreciates the reasons for it.
“We’d all love to be racing next weekend, but everyone at Purple Dot and Walkenhorst Motorsport fully respects and accepts the decision taken by the organising team behind the championship linked to the current situation with COVID-19”, said Sugden, “Of course, we’re delighted to have signed three fantastic British drivers and whenever we are able to be back on track we’re confident we’ll have a very competitive package. Tom [Wood], Josh [Hislop] and Luke [Williams] have a huge amount of talent and I’m looking forward to them mounting a strong challenge when the season eventually gets underway. It’s fantastic to have a second car too.“
