
Prema's Bonifacio, Tang quickest at Imola
2014 Formula Renault 2.0 ALPS season kicked of with more than 40 cars on track at Imola. Prema’s drivers Bruno Bonifacio and Andrew Tang topped the timesheet as the Brazilian set the fastest time of 1:56.148 in the wet morning session ahead of Nyck de Vries (Koiranen GP) and rookie Charles Leclerc. The 16-year-old Fortec Motorsports‘ driver surprised as well as the other two rookies Matevos Isaakyan (JD Motorsport) and Matteo Cairoli (GSK Grand Prix), fourth and fifth respectively.
Tang managed to further improve in the afternoon and set 1:55.251. Toyota Racing Series’ Champion finished ahead of Bonifacio at the end of a multiple red-flagged session. Leclerc confirmed on third followed by his team mate Matt Parry. Egor Orudzhev (Tech 1 Racing) was fifth ahead of two rookies George Russell (Koiranen GP) and Anthoine Hubert (Tech 1 Racing).
