Paul Ricard return for Das
Carlins’ Cameron Das takes on the second round of the 2018 Euroformula Open Championship this coming weekend at Paul Ricard Circuit.
The French track has already been a strong hunting ground for Das who gained a Winter Series podium in the pre-season event in anticipation of his championship campaign. Das now returns to Paul Ricard looking to continue his form following a further podium last month during the opening round of the season in Estoril which sees him currently fourth in the overall standings.
18-year-old American driver completed a great opening round in Estoril last month; working well with his engineer to get valuable information during the pre-event testing, Das got to grips with the unfamiliar track in characteristic strong fashion and was quickly marked as a contender. Taking a storming podium position in the opening race, Das went on to show consistency with his point scoring which has left him fourth in the overall standings – well and truly in the mix.
“I’m very much looking forward to Paul Ricard this weekend. We had the Winter Series there a few months ago where it was literally snowing at some points but it was still an incredibly valuable test“, 2016 F4 US Champion Das commented, “This weekend should be completely different condition-wise, and we’ve learned quite a few things from Estoril which we can look to apply here. It’s a long track with a lot of interesting parts so it should throw up a couple of exciting races out there.”
