Over 50 pre-entries at 12H Italy-Mugello
After the successful 24 Hours of Dubai, teams and drivers will gather in Italy for the next round of this year’s 24H Series, the inaugural Dunlop 12H Italy-Mugello, scheduled for March 14-15. Over 50 teams have already entered the race, opened to 24 Hours Special, GT and Touring cars.
We presented our plans for the inaugural Dunlop 12H Italy-Mugello during the Professional MotorSport World Expo in Cologne, last November, and we immediately got great feedback from many teams and drivers. – said Creventic’s Gerrie Willems – We opted for the date on the third weekend of March to enable all the teams and drivers to rack up some serious competition mileage before the action in most European race series starts. This year, the Autodromo Internazionale del Mugello is celebrating its 40th anniversary as a permanent circuit.
The winning teams from the most recent editions of the 24 Hours of Dubai and Barcelona, Stadler Motorsport (Porsche 991 GT3 R) and Hofor Racing (Mercedes SLS AMG GT3), have already entered for the 12 Hours Italy-Mugello. Other interesting entries include Dutch team V8 Racing, the local GDL Racing (Mercedes/Porsche) and Nova Race (Ginetta G50), and eight different teams in the Porsche Cup category, more a huge variety of brands.
Track action will start on Friday, March 14, with free practice from 9.30 till 10.45 and qualifying from 11.00 till 12.30. The first part of the race will be held on Friday from 14.00 till 17.00, after which parc fermé rules apply. The race will resume on Saturday, March 15, at 9.30 and continues until 18.30.
