Onslow-Cole, Pierburg take first win
Tom Onslow-Cole and Valentin Pierburg secure their first victory of the International GT Open season as they claimed a lights-to-flag win in race two at Silverstone. Taking the lead from the pole position, the Automotive SPS Performance British driver completed a perfect first stage to hand the Mercedes-AMG GT3 to Pierburg. The German was able to keep the advantage stable until the end.
The Lamborghini shared by Giovanni Venturini and Jeroen Mul finished second again and claimed the Pro category win. The Imperiale Racing Lamborghini reduced the gap considerably in the overall standings, where they now lie only 14 points behind Mikkel Mac – fourth with Alessandro Pier Guidi in their Luzich Racing Ferrari – and 5 behind the BMW Teo Martin pair Fran Rueda/André Saravia.
Team Ombra Racing completed the podium after a very solid race by Alex Frassineti and Damiano Fioravanti, in their Huracán GT3. The Lambos of Miguel Ramos/Fabrizio Crestani (Daiko Lazarus) and Alberto Di Folco/Stefano Costantini (Target Racing) took second and third respectively in the Pro/Am categoy behind the winning Mercedes, while the Lamborghini of Giulio Borlenghi and Andrzej Lewandowski took a last-minute Am win for Vincenzo Sospiri Racing. Crestani and Ramos still lead the Pro/Am.
