Olsen claims double pole at Spa
21-year-old Norwegian Dennis Olsen claimed double pole position at Spa in the qualifying session of the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup. With the best time of 2:23.857 the Walter Lechner Racing Team driver finished ahead of Italian Mattia Drudi (Dinamic Motorsport).
Championship lead Lechner MSG Racing Team’s Michael Ammermüller and Australian Matt Campbell (Fach Auto Tech) will start race one in the second row. The other Norwegian Egidio Perfetti was fastest among the B class drivers with a MOMO-Megatron Team Partrax car.
“After the problems with the car on Friday I didn’t really expect such a qualifying result”, said the Porsche-Junior Olsen, “It’s great to be on pole here in Spa, now its up to do a great job in the races as well.”
“Today my car was really good! I am really happy with claiming the second best time in the session. My last attempt was even better, however, I finally struggled with traffic”, explained Drudi, who had to settle with grid position seven for the race on Sunday.
