Minshaw storms to Silverstone pole
British racing driver Jon Minshaw claimed the pole position for Saturday’s Blancpain GT Sports Club Qualifying Race at Silverstone, after setting the fastest time of 2:19:923 in Friday’s session with the Barwell Motorsport Huracán GT3.
Autovitesse Garage R.Affolter Cédric Leimer completed an all Lamborghini front row. Last year’s Blancpain GT Sports Club runner-up Nicolas Vandierendonck set the third time in his Shipex by Ombra Racing Huracán racecar, ahead of former Le Mans 24 Hours class winner Karim Ojjeh on the Boutsen Ginion BMW M6 GT3.
“This is my first time in the Blancpain GT Sports Club and it’s a really nice event with lovely people. We have a pretty good setup on the car and in a way I was praying for rain and it happened. I think it will be a different story during the races on Saturday though. I think it will be a lot closer than it may appear. But anyway, I’ll take this pole position. It’s good fun and I really enjoy Silverstone, where we had a win last year.” – Minshaw said.
