Lapierre leads an Oreca 1-2-3
Dragonspeed’s Nicolas Lapierre secured his second pole position of the year, leading an Oreca-Gibson 1-2-3 at Paul Ricard in the fourth round of the European Le Mans Series. Frenchman set the quickest time in 1:52.761 on his first flying lap which was never beaten for the rest of the 10-minute session, 0.145s ahead of his team mate Leo Roussel, with Enzo Guibbert third. The SMP Racing Dallara of Matevos Isaakyan was fourth, followed by the first of the Ligiers fielded by United Autosports for Filipe Albuquerque.
Ross Kaiser‘s Ligier took the LMP3 pole position by a 0.285 margin over fellow British driver Alex Kapadia in the RLR MSport car. Matt Griffin secured the fastest time in the LMGTE class in his Spirit of Race Ferrari F488 ahead of Matteo Cairoli’s Proton Competition Porsche 911.
