Hillspeed confirms Chaimongkol
Hillspeed has confirmed Sasakorn Chaimongkol as their third driver for the BRDC British F3 Championship.
The 19-year-old Thai racer has already shown good pace in testing at Oulton Park this week, setting a best time just 1.3 seconds away from the overall fastest of the two days, which included topping Friday’s opening session in extremely tricky conditions.
“We are really happy to get Cutter in our third car for the full season“, Hillspeed Team Principal Richard Ollerenshaw commented, “We’ve got to know him very well and he’s shown really strong progress, especially in the last few weeks. We’re equally pleased to complete our capacity line-up for the 2018 season, and with Jusuf Owega joining us from Rockingham onwards, we’re hopeful of another very positive year.”
Sasakorn ‘Cutter’ Chaimongkol added: “I’m really excited to be joining the Hillspeed team for the full BRDC British F3 season. I’ve been driving with them for a while now and they’ve really helped my development. I think my pace is now very strong and I’m ready to challenge in British F3 this season. I can’t wait to get on the grid this weekend.”
Chaimongkol’s participation this weekend brings the field up to 17 cars for this weekend’s BRDC British F3 season opener, though the field will increase in size for the next round at Rockingham, with Josh Mason, Harry Webb and Jusuf Owega set to join.
