Herberth Motorsport wins 12H Italy
Porsche 997 GT3 R of Herberth Motorsport won the second edition of Hankook 12H Italy-Mugello after having dominated most of the eight hours of the race run on Saturday. Swiss Daniel Allemann and German drivers Ralf Bohn, Alfred and Ralf Renauer completed 342 laps of the 5.2 kilometer Italian circuit and finished ahead of Mercedes SLS AMG of Ram Racing shared by Tom Onslow-Cole, Adam Christodoulou and Paul White, that lost the lead when it was caught in the pits during a Code 60 neutralization period which came about three hours into the second part of the race.
Hofor Racing Mercedes of Roland Eggimann, Christiaan Frankenhout, Kenneth Heyer, Michael and Chantal Kroll finished third and eigth overall on a second SLS AMG GT3 car and claimed the A6-AM class victory despite they suffered a late race suspension failure.
Fourth place for the Black Pearl Racing by Rinaldi Ferrari shared by poleman Pierre Kaffer, “Steve Parrow” and Alexander Volz, in front of the other Mercedes of Duncan Huisman, Luc and Max Braams (GDL Racing). Starting from the front row with Matteo Malucelli, the other Ferrari of Scuderia Praha suffered an early contact and some technical problems.
The Porsche 997 class was won by Gabriel Abergel, Paul and Patrice Lafargue, who brought their Ruffier Racing 991 Cup on sixth place after having fought with the 997 Cup S of all-French crew Benjamin Roy, Maxime Pialat, Alain and Jean-Francois Demorge (Lorient Racing).
NKPP Racing Seat Leon Cup Racer dominated the A3T class with Harry Hilders and Roger Grouwels, who ended 13th overall ahead of Marc Focus V8 of the all-Australian crew Keith Kassulke, Jake Camilleri, Peter Leemhuis and Ryan McLeod that claimed a clear SP2 class win.
Optimum Motorsport Ginetta G55 GT4 won the SP3 with Adrian Barwick, Bradley Ellis and Flick Haigh in front of the other Ginetta G50 of the local team Nova Race shared by Carlo Mantori, Jérome Naveaux and Jean-Pierre Lequeux. Cor Euser Racing Lotus Evora led the class until it was stranded on course during the second half of the race.
