Guanyu Zhou takes F3 Asia title

Abu Dhabi Racing by Prema experienced a stellar conclusion to its double campaign in the F4 UAE and F3 Asian Championships with the final round of the latter series held at Abu Dhabi. The Emirati squad celebrated an early team title on Friday at the Grand Prix venue with two races still to be held, before sealing the driver title with Guanyu Zhou at the end of race three. In addition, the team took fourth place in the F4 championship which had ended one week before in Dubai, showing winning potential and putting together a brilliant group effort.

Completing a tense and exciting comeback in perfect fashion, Chinese racer Guan Yu Zhou cruised to take the driver title in the Abu Dhabi finale by showing speed and consistency. The Alpine Academy member scored a season-high five poles and four wins, in addition to a total of eleven podium finishes.

The pairing of Dino Beganovic and David Vidales was also impressive. The Swedish 17-year-old rookie scored four podiums at his first run after F4. As a result, he classified P7 in the championship despite missing six races. Vidales also went on to celebrate on the podium, ending the season on a positive note.

Emirati racer Amna Al Qubaisi, who was coming back to racing from a one-year hiatus, increased her experience despite the bad luck she faced along the way and performed well alongside much more experienced contenders. Her father, endurance racer Khaled Al Qubaisi, also faced a thorough challenge but stayed cool and kept the pace with Formula Regional regulars.

Lining-up for the second time in the Formula 4 UAE Championship, Hamda Al Qubaisi delivered an excellent season. The 18-year-old Emirati female racer secured three wins and a total of seven podium finishes en-route to fourth place in the overall standings.
