Gene' and Comini share victories
Jordi Gené and Stefano Comini shared the victories in the first round of TCR International Series at Sepang. The 44-year-old Spaniard claimed a flag-to-flag win in Race 2 with the Seat Leon starting from the pole position, but he had to resist to the furious attacks of Ferenc Ficza, Jordi Oriola and Gianni Morbidelli.
Eventually, Team Craft-Bamboo Lukoil posted a one-two, as Pepe Oriola took second like in Race 1, and Morbidelli gave the Honda Civic car its first podium finish. The Italian lost the position to Andrea Belicchi in the last lap, but won it back with a superb overtaking in the very last corner that cost Belicchi one more position, as his team-mate Comini took fourth.
Comini leaves Malaysia as the point leader of the series. The TCR International Series will resume on 11-12 April at Shanghai, in the same weekend of the Formula 1 Chinese Grand Prix.
