Ferrari takes pole at its home track
Pierre Kaffer (pictured) set the quickest time in the qualifying for the Hankook 12H Italy-Mugello. German driver put the Black Pearl Racing by Rinaldi Ferrari F458 Italia GT3 on pole position for this afternoon race, ahead of the sister car driven by Matteo Malucelli (Scuderia Praha), who was 1.267 seconds slower.
Starting from the second row of the grid are Tom Onslow-Cole in the Ram Racing Mercedes SLS AMG GT3 and Robert Renauer, with the first Porsche 997 GT3 R fielded by HB Racing Team Herberth.
American Charles Espenlaub (MRS GT Racing) was fastest in the 997 class and tenth overall, ahead of Martin Konrad (MSG Motorsport) and Stanislav Jedlinski (Poland).
Lionel Amrouche led the way in the SP2 class on his GC Automobile GC 10 V8. “Chris Tiger” was the fastest in the A3T class with the LMS Engineering Audi TTRS2. The Duller Motorsport BMW M3 E46 of Michael Fischer topped the A5 class. Ollie Jackson claimed the pole in the SP3 with the Speedworks Motorsport Ginetta G50. The CUP1 class leadership was taken by Michael Schrey on BMW M235i. Per Poulsen (Peugeot RCZ of Team K-Rejser) was the quickest in A2.
More than 70 cars entered the second edition of the race.
