Farnbacher brothers win race two
Lexus RC-F secured its fourth International GT Open victory in four races as Mario and Dominik Farnbacher won race two at Spa. The German brothers emerged from a difficult final part of the race, made crazy by a heavy storm fallen in the upper part of the track.
Heroes of the first part of the race was pole sitter Vito Postiglione, who took the lead with the Imperiale Racing Lamborghini Huracán GT3 car till the pit-stop. His team mate Andrea Fontana lost the first position when he had a contact at La Source with Dominik Farnbacher, finishing on the gravel. It let the AF Corse Ferrari 488 GT3 of Marco Cioci and Piergiuseppe Perazzini to claim the second overall, prevailing in the PRO-AM category ahead of the Garage59 McLarens of Alexander West/Côme Ledogar and Michael Benham/Duncan Tappy. The Kaspersky Motorsport Ferrari of Alex Moiseev and Davide Rizzo repeated the success of race one in the GT-AM.
The Farnbachers, with Dominik having driven a couple of stints in the Nürburgring 24 Hours on Saturday eve, are now leading by 5 points in the standings ahead of Albert Costa and Philip Frommenwiler.
