
EuroV8 Series ready for round 3
The EuroV8 Series is ready to line-up at Mugello for the third round of the 2014 season. If the opening round at Monza handed Italian-American Eddie Cheever III two wins on the R.R.T. Mercedes C63 Coupé, the Chevrolet Camaro of Francesco Sini (Solaris Motorsport), cruised to its first win in Race 1 at Vallelunga before Czech Tomas Kostka took a spectacular win in Race 2 for Audi.
In Tuscany, it will be Sini to line-up as the championship leader, with Kostka running in second by just four points. After just two races, it’s an extremely close fight for the lead, also thanks to the innovative Balance of Performance which enabled the pack to fight on equal terms.
Max Mugelli will also line-up at Mugello. The Italian will be back after his spectacular Race 1 crash at Vallelunga. On his home circuit, he will be looking for a rebound on the Team Dinamic-prepared BMW M3 E92. In the Chevy camp, former F.1 driver Domenico Schiattarella will return behind the wheel of the Lumina racer after scoring two podiums at Monza.
Audi will also be a tough opponent to deal after the sensational hat-trick scored in Vallelunga, with Davide Stancheris and Ermanno Dionisio joining Kostka. Also in the Mercedes camp, Nicola Baldan will be a tough contender as well as Niccolò Mercatali, who just scored his maiden podium finish for BMW.
