Estner to debut with VAR
Van Amersfoort Racing has announced the second driver for its first year in Euroformula Open as it signed today Sebastian Estner.
The 17-year-old German has raced for Van Amersfoort Racine in ADAC and Italian F4 for two years, and took his first win with the team at a wet Zandvoort in 2019. Estner has experience of racing in the MRF Challenge too, and Euroformula Open will be a step up in terms of power for the teenager.
“The car is very different from what I’m used to. It is certainly more powerful, but the generated downforce is the truly impressive part,” said Estner, “It is a completely different way of racing and it suits me very well. I am really excited to be back with Van Amersfoort Racing. I have always felt very much at home and this feeling seems to get stronger every time I get in the car with them.I can’t even put into words how much I look forward to the season to kick-off. We will be hitting quite a number of tracks that are new to me and from those, I look especially forward to Pau, not to mention Spa-Francorchamps.”
Van Amersfoort Racing has previously announced also Alexandre Bardinon, who will use the halo-shod lightweight Dallara 320 single-seater. The third driver for 2020 will be announced soon.
