Nova Race prepare for Dubai
Ginetta’s Italian outfit Nova Race are getting ready to celebrate the new year by returning to the Dubai 24 Hours which began today, with the race itself getting underway at 10am GMT on Saturday.
The experienced team from Emilia will be running their Ginetta G50 GT4 car in the UAE with drivers Fabio Ghizzi, Luca Magnoni and Luis Scarpaccio, the latter two who raced together at the 12 Hours of Abu Dhabi in December.
The final two drivers were strong performers in the Ginetta G50 Cup Italia, and have been named as Maurizio Copetti and Roberto Gentili, who won the “Fuchs Over 50” title and claimed the fourth place in general classification. Notably absent is regular driver Matteo Cressoni who is at home celebrating the birth of his son Ian.
With seven cars making up the SP3 class, Nova Race will face off against two other Ginetta G50 GT4 cars, including Optimum Motorsport and Speedworks Motorsport, with the factory run Team LNT G55 GT3 car also sharing their pit garage.
The 24 Hours of Dubai gets underway today with free practice ahead of qualification and night practice tomorrow ahead of the race start on Friday at 10am.
