Engel claims the pole position for 24H Dubai
Maro Engel claimed the pole position for this week’s 15th running of the Hankook 24H Dubai. The German driver set the lap-time of 1m57.490s in the Toksport WRT Mercedes-AMG GT3 he shares with Luca Stolz, Philip Ellis, Patrick Assenheimer and Martin Konrad. It was also the first pole position for Mercedes-AMG in the Dubai race since 2017.
Team Black Falcon completed the Mercedes one-two as Jeroen Bleekemolen put his car second on the grid, finishing only 0.047 seconds down. Third fastest in qualifying was Porsche works driver Sven Müller in the Herberth Motorsport’s 911 GT3 R car. The HTP Winward Motorsport Mercedes-AMG GT3 qualified fourth.
The MP Motorsport‘s Mercedes-AMG GT3 was sixth overall and topped the AM category. Fastest GTX qualifier was the Leipert Motorsport’s Lamborghini Hurcacán Super Trofeo driven by Tom Dillmann.
Repeating his team’s qualifying success from last year at the same venue, Colin White unleashed the full potential of his CWS Engineering Ginetta G55 to put the car on TCE division pole position.
