
Drugovich moves closer to title
Felipe Drugovich has one hand on the Euroformula Open championship title, after claiming the ninth win of the season at Monza in race one. The RP Motorsport driver moved up to second on lap 2 by overtaking Marcos Siebert and then passed also his championship rival Bent Viscaal to take the lead.
Brazilian pulled away as Viscaal, Siebert and Lukas Dunner were caught in a three-way battle. Viscaal’s race ended when missed the first chicane hitting a bollard, while Siebert kept the second place ahead of Dunner.
Newcomer Leonardo Lorandi, who set the sixth quickest time in qualifying, dropped several places in the first half of the race but charged to finish fourth in front of Matheus Iorio.
