Di Folco tops Lamborghini test

Italian rookie Alberto Di Folco set the fastest time for Imperiale Racing at the end of the two-day pre-season test of the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo Europe at the Vallelunga track. 17-year-old racer – who will turn 18 tomorrow – clocked an impressive 1:36.090 in the last session of Wednesday afternoon, 0:428 quicker than Alberto Cerqui (Composit Motorsport). The former WTCC driver and 2011 Italian Superstars Champion topped the first day, sharing the car with Andrea Ceccato.

Expert Mirko Zanardini (Bonaldi Motorsport) ended third ahead of Andrea Palma (Imperiale Racing), who haven’t used fresh tyres. The other newcomer Edoardo Piscopo shared the wheel of another Bonaldi’s Gallardo with Greek youngster Aristotelis Varvaroussis and set the fifth overall response followed by Gerhard Tweraser (Grasser Racing), reinging AM World Champion Alberto Viberti – who left Composit for Imperiale – and the other rookie Simone Pellegrinelli (DTM Racing).

Roberto Tanca (Imperiale Racing) and Renato Di Amato (Composit Motorsport) rounded our the top 10. 2012 Endurance Iber GT Trophy Champion Gianluca Carboni tested one of the Bonaldi’s cars.
