
De Vries master of rain at Pau
Nyck de Vries scored a double win at Pau, in the second round of the Formula Renault 2.0 ALPS. After having seized Race 1 on Saturday, despite heavy rain the Koiranen GP driver didn’t make any mistake in Race 2 and dominated from the light.
Charles Leclerc finished second for Fortec Motorsports in front of Hugo De Sadeleer (Tech 1 Racing), who claimed his first podium in the series.
Alex Bosak and Thiago Vivacqua didn’t start, while George Russell was forced to join the race from the pit lane. Matevos Isaakyan went off when he was second. Marek Boeckmann, Ben Barnicoat and Akash Nandy hit the barriers soon. Kang Ling spun and involved in a crash James Allen and Dennis Anoschin.
Philo Paz Patric Armand finished fourth, chased by Fortec Motorsports’ Martin Kodric. Dario Capitanio, Semen Estigneev, Simon Gachet, Dennis Korneev and Matteo Gonfiantini rounded out the top 10.
