Cetilar Racing unveils FIA WEC campaign
Cetilar Racing has unveiled 2021 FIA WEC campaign. The team headed by Roberto Lacorte will compete in the World Endurance Championship fielding the #47 Ferrari 488 GTE supported by AF Corse in the usual light blue/green livery.
The Dallara LMP2 era – including four editions of the 24 Hours of Le Mans and the European Le Mans Series challenge – comes to an end, whilst FIA WEC remains a past, present, future connection. Roberto Lacorte, Giorgio Sernagiotto and youngster Antonio Fuoco – who grew up in the Ferrari Driver Academy and made his Cetilar Racing debut last January at the Daytona 24H – complete the line-up. Experienced Andrea Belicchi will play a key role as drivers’ coordinator.
Cetilar Racing will aim directly at the GTE Am World title, being aware to have a super competitive machinery, in the light of a consolidated partnership with AF Corse, the Amato Ferrari‘s outfit linked to Maranello.
“Racing with Ferrari” will be a very emotional experience, such as entering for the fifth time the 24 Hours of Le Mans scheduled for 21th/22th August, the first one for Cetilar Racing with a GT car and Ferrari.
The 2021 season for Cetilar Racing will start in one week with the official test at Barcelona on 6th/7th April, ahead of 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps that will kick-off the calendar on early May.
“We embark on a new challenge with big expectations. We’ll compete not only to compete, but to perform well and collect the results I think our team deserves“, Lacorte said. “We have the best team and the best car in a charming livery that represents our country.”
“On the wave of the enthusiasm I can say there are great expectations“, Sernagiotto commented. “We have everything we need to reach our target, the drivers’ line-up, a great team and last but not least a very competitive car. We’ll do our best!”
“I’ve just seen for the first time the car and I am very impressed by the new, aggressive livery“, added Fuoco. “We hope to be aggressive on track as well. We are ready and I really am feeling very positive about our chances.“
