Caroline takes dominant win at Donington
Jamie Caroline claimed a brilliant victory at Donington, in the second event on the 2017 F4 British Championship. A stunning move on lap one put the Carlin driver in the lead, and from there Caroline looked untouchable as he controlled his race to make it three out of four wins so far this season. Double R Racing’s Linus Lundqvist, starting from the pole position, took the second place. Billy Monger (JHR Developments) was third.
As the lights went out for the first race of the weekend at Donington, Caroline made the most of his second placed grid slot, fighting for the lead in the run down to Redgate before snatching the lead from Lundqvist going into the Old Hairpin. In the opening laps, Caroline and Lundqvist were trading fastest laps, but the Carlin man soon started to pull out a healthy gap.
The British F4 drivers will take part in two further races tomorrow, with other Carlin driver Patrick Pasma starting from pole in reverse grid race two.
