Ammermuller takes dominant victory
Michael Ammermüller claimed his third consecutive Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup victory. The Lechner MSG Racing Team German driver dominated the second round of the series at Monaco starting from the pole position. His team mate Daniel Cammish finished second after having passed Porsche Junior Dennis Olsen at the first corner. Eventually the Walter Lechner Racing Team racer took the third place.
“I’m over the moon. My first victory in Monaco is something very special. I was nervous beforehand and would have preferred to have driven the race immediately after Friday’s qualifying session. But ultimately everything went well,” said Ammermüller.
MRS GT-Racing’s Zaid Ashkanani achieved his best result so far ad he finished fourth, fending off the attacks of the other Porsche Junior driver Matt Campbell (Fach Auto Tech). Italian Daniele Di Amato took the flag in sixth for Dinamic Motorsport. The best amateur was MRS-Cup Racing’s Roar Lindland.
After three races, Ammermüller leads the overall standings with 60 points, followed by Olsen (52) and Cammish (48). Lindland leads the amateur category. In the newly created League of Nations, Germany holds the lead with maximum points (60) thanks to Ammermüller. Norway is now sitting on second place with 52 points.
Next round of the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup calendar will be held at Spielberg, in Austria, from 7-9 July.
