Adorf-Catsburg take first victory for BMW
Three races, three winners. After Audi and Porsche, the BMW Sports Trophy Team Marc VDS celebrated the first victory for BMW in the current season of the VLN championship. After 27 laps covered in 4h05:00.778, Dirk Adorf and Nick Catsburg won the 56th edition of ADAC ACAS H&R Cup, starting from 12th and finishing for just 3.575 in front of the Dörr Motorsport’s McLaren MP4 12C GT3 shared by Rudi Adams, Kevin Estre and Arno Klasen.
The top three were completed by Marc Basseng, Marcel Fässler and Frank Stippler in an Audi R8 LMS ultra run by the Phoenix team. Uwe Alzen and Philipp Wlazik in a H&R Spezialfedern‘s BMW Z4 GT3 scored the fourth position.
Behind Yelmer Buurman, Hubert Haupt and Christian Menzel, driving a Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3 of Black Falcon, the winners of the last race, Klaus Abbelen, Patrick Huisman and Sabine Schmitz finished in sixth place in a Porsche 911 GT3 R.
With the fastest time of 8:07.059, Alex Buncombe achieved the first pole position for the Nissan GT Academy Team RJN at the “Green Hell”, but due to a damaged tyre in the race, the Briton and his team mates Lucas Ordonez and Florian Strauss finished the race in eighth place.
