6 teams already joined 2014 line-up
2014 EuroGTSprint, promoted by ADM Organization in partnership with FG Marketing & Communication, is starting to unveil the list of the teams that will take part to the season, starting at Monza on April 6th.
The entry list includes some of the major protagonists of the International Series as Black Team (Ferrari), who won in 2012 with Andrea Palma. Glauco Solieri will also be back into the game and will race on one of the two Krypton Motorsport Porsches. Again with the Stuttgart-based manufacturer, Autorlando Sport replies with two Porsche GT3 R. Malucelli will line up a Ferrari 458 Italia GT3 while Ombra Racing team is finalizing its involvement, with the Maranello cars. EuroGTSprint is then attracting the attention of international teams such as the Portuguese Sports&You that will take part with two Mercedes SLS GT3. Swiss Team is also expected on the grid with their Maserati as they now aim to the top after they have familiarized with the series in 2013.
The promoter also decided to not confirm Magny-Cours so that the calendar will be based on six double-race week-ends: Monza, April 6th – Hungaroring, May 4th – Mugello, May 18th – Brno, June 22nd – Portimão, July 20th – Imola, October 12th.
While focused on the preparation of the first race of Monza, some of the series Team Principals shared thoughts about the upcoming season.
Paulo Ferreira (Sports&You)
We are going to line-up our two Mercedes SLS GT3 racecars. The two races we entered last year – Portimão and Imola – persuaded us to to join full-time. I think that this series is a benchmark in the European GT racing panorama. We are finalizing our driver line-up so we will be ready to roll 100% in the first round at Monza, on the 6th of April. And, why not, try to make our way to the title.
Guido Bonfiglio (Swiss Team)
The 2013 GTSprint season hasn’t been easy for us, but now we are ready to be back and I’m confident that we will well perform. The series is a great showcase for our Maserati GT3. We are concentrating our effort to secure our entry from the first round of the season.
Lorenzo Martinelli (Krypton Motorsport)
We are really looking forward to EuroGTSprint. I’ve always believed in this series and I’ve been following it since 2011. The return to the original format was the right thing to do and I think that there will be a strong teams response from the first race. We are working to prepare two cars, a Porsche 991 GT3 R for Glauco Solieri and a GT Cup class.
Alessandro Malucelli (Team Malucelli)
I strongly believe in this series. Our goal is to prepare a Ferrari 458 Italia GT3. The two, 40-minute races are the right formula both for the teams and the fans. They will see a great show this season.
Davide Mazzoleni (Ombra Racing Team)
We’re working hard to guarantee our presence from the first race at Monza. The EUROGTSPRINT name brings back many fantastic memories for us like the GTS3 title won by Mario Cordoni in 2012. We are sure that the championship will be a success in 2014 too.
Giancristiano Cavalleri (Black Team)
It’s going to be a great return for us. Being back with the 458 GT2 Ferrari that brought us to the 2012 title really makes me proud. The EUROGTSPRINT is a benchmark in terms of media visibility for teams and sponsors. We are determined to field an interesting line-up right from Monza.
Orlando Redolfi (Autorlando Sport)
It’s with great pleasure that I announce our entry in the series. We believe a lot in this championship and we aim to win it this season with one of the two cars. Our plans are to field two Porsche GT3 R cars as Porsche Weissach confirmed their manufacturer support status.
